CRT1 is our entry point in the world of experimental recordings. It captures vibration hidden inside solid objects and liquids, revealing sound where microphones normally fail. It can be attached to surfaces using the provided rubberband or Blu Tack.
A piezo contact mic picks up vibration travelling inside materials instead of sound moving through air — press it against fences, radiators, strings, machines or ice and record what is happening inside the object. CRT1 is waterproof, weighs only 13 grams, and plugs straight into any recorder or audio interface with a 6.3mm jack, making it an ideal first microphone for experimental field recording.
