RAINCATCHER

A FIELD5 attachment built to isolate and capture transients — rain, birds and similar sounds.

Raindrops strike the 30 cm engraved plexiglass disc and the FIELD5 picks up every impact directly from the material — a percussion instrument played by the weather. Beyond rain, the resonant plate isolates other transient sources for close, detailed field recording of environmental micro-events.
